The Department of English,Pazhassi Raja NSS College has been a part of this institution right from the time of its inception as English has been the compulsory first language taught for UG students. It achieved the status of an undergraduate department in the year 2000 when BA English Language and Literature Programme was introduced. The department offers BA English Language and Literature Programme with British History and Journalism as complementary courses.
